BakerRipley, Boat People SOS, and Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative are hosting a family preparedness workshops to provide rights information and free assistance for families concerned about deportation.
Individuals will get assistance from attorneys and leave the workshops with documents that will allow a trusted caregiver to care for their children if they are unable to do so. Specifically, they will receive powers of attorney or similar documents, as well as consent to travel documents.
Please bring: Parents’ identification, children’s birth certificates, children’s social security numbers (if any), and the name and address of the caregiver. Parents should have spoken with the caregiver in advance of the workshop. Both single and dual-parent households are welcome.
