Garland v. Ming Dai, 141 S. Ct. 1669 (2021), and a Deep Dive into Credibility in Asylum Cases

The Supreme Court recently addressed the legal standard for reviewing asylum credibility findings on appeal in the decision Garland v. Ming Dai, 141 S. Ct. 1669 (2021). This webinar will discuss the holding and significance of that decision. It will also take a deep dive into other precedent and guidance on how adjudicators determine credibility, and how that determination is reviewed on appeal. The speakers will also offer practical tips on how to present asylum claims to minimize the risk of adverse credibility findings, including a discussion on corroboration and common pitfalls to avoid.
