In his January 2021 statement, President Biden cracked the door open to the possibility of bringing back home those deported during the previous administration. We must open the door further. For millions of people outside the United States, the right to return presents the best, most enduring, and most humane solution for the various policy issues raised during this live chat series. Deported individuals in Mexico call themselves “los olvidados”—the forgotten. But, the proposals of The Rhizome Center for Migrants and our allies present the opportunity to pave a road back home and to remember those whose lives have been caught in a web of borders and other barriers.
