U.S. Border Patrol’s Legacy of Racism: Alternative Visions for Border Management

March 18, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm

Since the U.S. Border Patrol’s creation in 1924, racism has been a deeply rooted part of its culture. This culture continues to impact how officers treat people at the border. For years, countless people—including many Immigration Justice Campaign clients—have reported being degraded and abused by officers. And the Border Patrol is larger and more militarized than at any point in its history.

Join experts from the American Immigration Council and the Southern Border Communities Coalition for a webinar and discussion of the Border Patrol’s legacy and how we can create a better border management system.
