COVID-19 disproportionately impacted already marginalized populations, increasing inequity in access to critical resources like food, shelter and healthcare. The City of Houston and Harris County COVID-19 recovery committees must prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable in this pandemic and commit to building long-term wellbeing for all. HILSC provides ten (10) policy recommendations to support an equitable COVID-19 recovery process.

Many immigrants were left out of the federal aid package meant to keep families afloat during the pandemic. HILSC’s #AllInThisTogether campaign, launched in 2020, complied a list of funds providing direct financial assistance to Houston area undocumented and immigrant communities.
